This week Sounds of the Caribbean takes a walk down memory lane by playing nothing but classics. Music from the great singers like Alton Ellis, Delroy Wilson, Ken Boothe, John Holt, and Dennis Brown can be heard as well as tunes from classic groups like The Viceroys, The Mighty Diamonds, Culture, The Tennors, The Paragons, The Heptones, and Black Uhuru are featured as well. Also in the mix are some roots anthems from the likes of Junior Byles, Prince Far I, Ernest Wilson, I Roy, Freddie McGregor, and Sugar Minott.
This weeks Dub Zone features Dubs from Jah Warrior, Michael Rose, as well as new music from Dubmatix' s new release entitled System Shakedown featuring The Mighty Diamonds as well as Dennis Alcapone. Extended mixes in the Dub Zone include works from Lion Youth, Black Uhuru, Horace Andy, and Dennis Brown.

The Sounds of the Caribbean podcast returns this week by starting out with some classic roots music from the likes of The Itals, Midnite, Pablo Moses, The Twinkle Brothers, The Prophets with Trinity, and a lost classic from Augustus Pablo and Jah Levi. Also this week we celebrate Father's Day by featuring music for Dad with tunes from Luciano, Queen Omega, Don Campbell, and Kymani Marley. A set of Lovers rock is also featured with music by The Mighty Diamonds, Busy Signal, Ed Robinson and new music from Romain Virgo. On This weeks Sounds of the Caribbean Keith Rowe takes you on a walk down memory lane with his tribute to the great reggae musician Lynn Taitt. Lynn Taitt (6/22/34-1/20/10) passed away this past week in Montreal Canada. Lynn Taitt was an arranger, pannist, and guitarist and wrote his own music. Taitt also played Piano and keyboard. Taitt himself had very few recordings but his works with other musicians estimated to be near a thousand will live on forever. This week you will hear classic tunes from the great Rock steady era from the likes of Hopeton Lewis, The Tennors, Stranger Cole, The Heptones, Bob Marley, Rudy Mills, Johnny Nash, The Paragos, The Skatalites, Ken Boothe, and Roy Shirley. Lynn Taitt also played on all of Keith's Keith & Tex classics and of course they are featured as well, along with Keith telling of what it was like back in the day to be recording with an artist like Lynn Taitt.
This weeks Dub Zone which steps away from the Lynn Taitt tribute features dubs from Pablo Gad, UB40, Ini Kamoze, and Dub Syndicate. You will also hear extended mixes from Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, and Anthony Red Rose.
